WHAT ORTHOTICS DO
About Us
As part of the walking and standing process our arches flex. This helps us balance, absorb shock, and propel forward. This flex is called pronation. Often times the arch over pronates and causes the arch to flex toward the ground. As a result of this condition, all other body parts follow - the knee joint flexes inward, the hip joint flexes downward, the lower back flexes side-to-side. Over hundreds of step or hours of standing the unnatural movement causes irritation, fluid build-up, eventually a general ache is constantly felt and things begin to wear.

There is no replacement for a custom orthotic. Orthotics are fitted with you and only you in mind. They will not fit or feel comfortable to anyone else but you. An impression is taken and a plaster of paris cast is developed from this unique process. This will ensure that the fit of the orthotic will be exact to provide the exact support necessary to support your body from the ground up. It is very important to maintain the neutral alignment of all joints to minimize the movement that is so harmful over the course of time. Orthotics are both proactive and reactive.
Even if you are only experiencing occasional aches and pain, this can be prevented by proper alignment.
